We were assigned to develop a retail brand from naming to its physical space that specialises in hemp and CBD natural products!
The name “Cannabloom” derives from the words “Cannabis” and the act of “blooming” and in that way corresponds both to the nature of the products and to the growth of nature itself. Emphasising on the philosophy that our client wants to get across, that all that is good and beneficial actually come from nature! In order to achieve that we needed to reevaluate the negative notions hiding behind a cannabis shop and set forth a feeling of a natural ingredient, processed in such a way that provide healthy benefits, and sets aside any notion related to a drug.
To introduce Cannabloom to the world in a familiar way, the symbol of the cannabis leaf was used, represented by a more abstract and strict image of a leaf, using only straight lines and clean volumes. The very same form principles were used for the design of the physical store in Chalkidiki, Greece.
Particularly, we incorporated different types and colors of wood on the furniture and on the floor of the store to amplify the notion of nature, similarly to a forest where we always see a pattern of different types of trees and trunks. The floor is a combination of three types of laminated wood panels shaping a striped pattern and in that way the floor and the logo work hand in hand in terms of form and visual style.
The green and brown color combination comes through and through of the shops physical and graphical elements. The striped brown floor and the typography on the green curtain coexists together with craft shopping bags and flyers where condensed and extended fonts form add an additional graphic element.
